About me and my work

Hornchurch, Essex, United Kingdom
Plein-air-Den is an 'en plein air' and 'en studio' painter who likes to share his work with all the people local to the sites where he most often paints and maybe other art-lovers. The PLEIN AIR paintings shown here are painted in oils, approximately 8" x 10" sometimes smaller, painted on site, at one sitting of usually less than two hours duration depending on complexity. This requirement is largely due to the changing nature of the light on the landscape. In a short while the light (sun) can move enough to make a considerable change in the shape of the lights and darks in the scene before you. I try to mainly paint in either the morning or afternoon. The STUDIO PAINTINGS, are in oils and acrylics, can take many hours to complete, but at least the light stays consistent. PLEASE NOTE You can email comments or questions to denis.naylor@sky.com
